    How many players can participate?

Destination Unknown is designed for 2 or more players. The driver and one or more passengers can participate, with the passengers handling the cards and reading instructions.

What ages is the game suitable for

The game is family-friendly and suitable for ages 8 and up. However, younger children may also enjoy participating with guidance from adults.

How long does a game typically last?

The duration of the game depends on the number of cards in the deck. On average, a game can last anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on how many challenges you complete.

What do I need to get started?

The game comes with everything you need, including 30 Action Cards, 10 Dashboard Cards, 2 suction cup card holders, an hourglass timer, and a Quick Start Guide.

How do I set up the game?

Shuffle all the cards together into a single deck. Attach the suction cup card holders to the passenger-side dashboard or windscreen. The passenger draws the first card to start the game.

What’s the difference between Action Cards and Dashboard Cards?

Action Cards (black titles) provide immediate instructions that must be followed right away. Dashboard Cards (red titles) are placed in the suction cup holders and activate when specific conditions are met during the drive.

How do I handle intersections and dead ends?

If you cannot proceed straight at an intersection, play Paper, Scissors, Rock to decide the direction. The winner’s side of the car dictates the turn. If you reach a dead end, simply turn around and continue.

What if I can’t complete a card’s challenge in time?

Each card’s instructions must be completed within 10 minutes. If you can’t complete the challenge in time, shuffle the card back into the deck and draw another one.

Can I have more than one Dashboard Card active at a time?

You can have a maximum of 2 Dashboard Cards active at a time. If you draw a third, replace the oldest Dashboard Card on the dashboard with the newly drawn one.

What should I do if the card instructions are unclear?

If the instructions on a card are unclear or ambiguous, agree on an interpretation with all players before proceeding.

    Are there any safety considerations?

Yes, safety is paramount. The driver must always prioritize safe driving and follow all traffic rules. The passenger handles the cards and reads them aloud. Do not attempt to complete challenges if they put you or others at risk.

What if I spot a car but lose sight of it?

If you lose sight of the car you are following, shuffle that card back into the deck to be drawn again later. Do not speed or drive recklessly to catch up.

What’s the purpose of the hourglass timer?

The hourglass timer is used for certain challenges on some cards to add an element of time-bound excitement. It measures 1-minute intervals.

Can we take breaks during the game?

Absolutely! If a card’s instructions require you to stop, ensure you do so safely and in a legal parking area. Take breaks as needed to enjoy the journey.

How do I handle adverse weather conditions?

What if I run out of cards?

The game ends when you run out of cards. You can either get out and explore your new surroundings or shuffle the deck and start a new adventure.
